Friday 21 August 2026 · The CEO. Kathrin sent it at 00:34 this morning — Gaurav Bhushan, CEO of Ennismore, 11:45 today. Nine hours after the Louis call. The invite is still tentative — accept it.
Prep — what a CEO call actually is. Louis was about scope: five operating hotels, two 2027 openings, a Pacific team to build. Gaurav is about judgement. Take three things: (1) a view on the Pacific, not a summary of yourself — the Andaz Gold Coast work says the ramp is the dominant issue, not the market (21.5% of 2027 RevPAR, ~$7.01m rooms revenue, vs a market/ADR debate worth 5–7%); (2) how you’d sequence the openings without the operating five paying for them, in three sentences; (3) one question only someone who has run these hotels would ask. Say less than you want to.
FYI — Dee Why imaging portal (00:09): your scan images are available. Worth a look when the day quietens.
Everything else in 24 hours: newsletters and Indeed alerts. Nothing there.
⚠ The plan has run out. City to Surf — Recalibrated Plan ended at Week 8 (3–9 Aug); race was Sun 9 Aug. Twelve days on, you’re training without a block. Today’s session is a sensible post-race call, not something read off the sheet — and the plan’s own note said “build to a consistent 21km AFTER City to Surf.”
Today (Fri) — post-race quality run. Old shape put Fri/Sat here and the load rule holds: two running-impact days a week, everything else low-impact Z2, back-safe. ~45–50min. Full session on the WOD tab.
Tomorrow (Sat) — long run, easy. 12–14km @ 5:30–5:50/km, HR under 140, conversational. Rebuilding toward 21km — keep it boring.
Quiet — the day went into the Louis call, not the brain. 00_Inbox/ is empty. Live in the folder: the Ennismore package note (the band, plus the maximum super contribution base wrinkle — ~$260,280, one line of contract wording, ~$16.8k/yr on a $400k package) and the Andaz Gold Coast ramp-vs-market analysis, which is today’s ammunition.
The gap: there is still no debrief from yesterday’s 16:30 with Louis — the most consequential 45 minutes of the job hunt so far. Five minutes of voice notes fixes it. Then do the same for the CEO call.
Parked while the job hunt is hot, and rightly so — but name them parked: DayCourt Phase 1 contract + NDA · Sleep Co deep research · The Same Group brand and web presence.
Friday · post-race maintenance (no active block — plan ended 9 Aug) · Threshold intervals, ~45–50min
Warm-up (10 min). 5min easy walk/jog or bike, HR under 120 · hip flexor stretch 2×30s each side · glute bridges 2×12 · leg swings 10 each way · 4×20s build strides, walk back.
Cool-down (10 min). 1km very easy @ 6:00/km+ · calf, hamstring and hip-flexor stretch 45s each · sauna if there’s time.
Back-safe swap: if the back is talking or HRV is down, run the same 4×4 protocol on the ski erg or rower — no impact, no debate. This is impact day one of two this week; tomorrow’s long run is day two. Nothing else on the legs. Salt your fluids.
Long run — 12–14km easy @ 5:30–5:50/km, HR under 140, conversational. Rebuilding toward 21km, so keep it boring.
Weights logging coming soon.
